BluegrassTechniques-Guitar-Fiddle-Banjo- M 6:55-7:55pm 8

******Purchase of an Instructional CD is required ($35) and payable to the instructor in cash,

during the first class. Each Student must have their own Acoustic Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle or

Mandolin (no amp available for electric guitars) Students should already know how to play their

instrument. For beginning Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, or Guitar students with an interest in

playing bluegrass music.

This class is structured for children and teenagers. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of

playing the guitar. This course is designed for a student with either no knowledge or limited

knowledge of playing the guitar. Classes will begin with learning basic chords and strumming

patterns, to gaining an understanding of the instrument, including music theory and an

understanding of how to play various songs on the guitar.

Pilates concentrates on the core which is our abdominal muscles. Pilates also helps lengthen

muscles and improve posture & flexibility. Yoga creates balance in the body, developing

strength and flexibility while strength training benefits the arms and legs. NOTE: Bring a yoga

mat, towel, small pillow, bottled water, optional hand weights, & a big smile. Wear comfortable

clothing, bring socks & sneakers for your feet.

Learn to let go of clutter so that you will no longer live in CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over

Syndrome.) This class will help you understand the underlying reasons why you clutter, provide

you with practical de-cluttering tips, and motivate you to free yourself from all that "Stuff" that

you just can't seem to throw away.

garment industry tricks of the trade from the garment industry. Students should arrive to first

class with basic sewing notions, including Sewing Machine, Ruler, Tape Measure, Tailor's

Ballroom Dancing - Beginning (Couples W 6:30-7:45pm 8

Ballroom dancing provides instruction in American Ballroom style dancing with at least three

variations in Foxtrot, Rumba, Waltz, Tango, Swing, and Cha-Cha. The primary objectives of

this course are for couples to be comfortable on the dance floor and to participate in Ballroom

Style Dancing. NOTE: Couples ONLY.

 

 

Ballroom Dancing - Intermediate (Couples W 7:45-9:00pm 8

This intermediate class is for those that have mastered the basic dances of ballroom style

dancing and wish to learned more advance steps. Students should have already taken the

beginning class or a comparable class. NOTE: Couples Only.

 

 

French - Intermediate W 6:30-8:00pm 8

A continuation of our beginner class, studies of the French language in this class designed for

individuals who need practical "Survival French" skills necessary for business or travel.

Golf - Beginners (WPB Municipal Course) W 9:30-11:30am 6

*****This class has an additional required one time Range Fee of $50 which is required and

payable in cash to the instructor during the 1st class*****

ADULTS ONLY This course is designed for beginners. The six essentials of good golf shall be

emphasized: grip, stance, posture, alignment, ball position and swing. We limit class size to 15

golfers, so that the instructor may give individual attention to each student.

Golf classes are held at the WPB Municipal Golf Course behind Forest Hill High School off of

Parker Avenue. Take I-95 to Forest Hill Boulevard, Exit 66. Head East .4 miles to Parker

Avenue and turn Right. The course will be at the end of Parker Avenue, behind Forest Hill High

School. Meet your instructor, Chuck Reynolds, in front of the Pro Shop.

 

 

Intro to Computers W 6:00-9:00pm 8

The Introduction to Computers class familiarizes the student with computer hardware

(equipment), applications software (programs) and the basic windows systems. Students who

successfully complete this program of study will be able to assimilate fundamental knowledge

about computer hardware, its set-up, and software programs in word processing and

MS Excel 2007 - Beginning W 6:00-9:00pm 8

The introduction to Microsoft Excel 2007 course outlines the use of spreadsheets, file creation,

data entry, editing and formatting worksheets using formulas, charts, and wizards. *****Book is

Self Esteem Improvement W 6:00-8:00pm 8

Good Self-Esteem is the key to a better life. Students will learn how to gain self-confidence

and overcome depression, addictions, anger, anxiety, fear, shyness, and guilt. Good self-

esteem is necessary for success in work, marriage, parenting, and personal relationships.

 

 

Tai Chi - Body in Motion W 6:00-7:00pm 8

Tai Chi is a form of mind/body fitness and is sometimes called "meditation in motion." Tai Chi

is actually an ancient, internal martial art that focuses on smooth, slow movements that

cultivates inward focus and free energy flow. The Tai Chi movements help relieve pain,

stiffness, and stress and so improve flexibility, balance, and coordination. It is also practiced for

inner calm and peace, better focus, and increased energy.

 

 

Kickboxing W 7:00-8:00pm 8

Popular in Europe, kickboxing combines the basics of Boxing and Karate - an exceptional

cardio & strength workout! This is a non-contact class. Equipment will be provided for the first

class. Students should purchase their own equipment for future classes (approx $40).

 

 

Wireless Networking 101 W 7:00-9:00pm 8

Learn fundamental skills necessary to connect devices to the network. The class will give an overview of how to configure and connect wireless devices to a network to diminish the use of multiple cables and to enhance the use of features on those gadgets. Configuring and connecting a router to a laptop, connecting a wireless keyboard and setting up a blu-ray player to the network are a few of the concepts that will be covered.

Week 1- Configuration of a wireless router and modem

Week 2- Connection of a desktop to a wireless network

Week 3- Connection of a laptop to a wireless network

Week 4- Blu-ray set up to access multimedia such as Netflix, YouTube, and Vudu HD Movies

Zumba W 6:45-7:45pm 8

Join the latest exercise dance craze using Latin dance moves! This class will concentrate on

four basic moves: merengue, salsa, cumbia, and reggaeton. Begin by learning the rhythms,

then the steps, and finally, add arms and direction. Burn calories and tone your body with fast

and slow music. Be sure to wear athletic shoes that do not grip on linoleum.

This fun, upbeat, beginner class incorporates jazz dance with beginning hip-hop. Music ranges

from older Jazz to current age approporiate hip hop music. Students should wear leotard,

tights, shorts, or sweat pants and tee shirt that they can stretch in, and jazz shoes or sneakers,

with hair pulled back and NO jewelry .

Week 1: arm/feet positions, plies, demi, step touch, skips (hop step), split alignments, sugar

twist, arm side touch, basic glide, squat hop

Week 2: side chasses, kick ball change, lindy, 3 step turn, pivot turn, squat kick, coffee grind,

Video Production & Final Cut Pro Editing Th 6:30-8:30pm 8

Video Production and Editing is a basic technical course that provides students with an

overview of the skills necessary to create, shoot and edit a video project. Students participate in

classroom and laboratory activities regarding all aspects of video production including camera

techniques, preproduction, performance, production, and editing. Upon successful completion of

this course, students will be able to produce their own videos, have enhanced technical skills and

have a better understanding of all elements of video production. *****$10 material fee required and

is included in the registration fee.*****

 

 

Zumba T 6:45-7:45pm 8

Join the latest exercise dance craze using Latin dance moves! This class will concentrate on

four basic moves: merengue, salsa, cumbia, and reggaeton. Begin by learning the rhythms,

then the steps, and finally, add arms and direction. Burn calories and tone your body with fast

and slow music. Be sure to wear athletic shoes that do not grip on linoleum.

 

Beaded Jewelry - Intro to S 9:30am-12:30pm 4

***An Additional fee of $45 for project supplies is payable directly to the instructor on the 1st

day of class***

Objective: Learn basic techniques used in making beaded jewelry including earrings, bracelets,

necklaces, etc. Skills learned in this class will establish a foundation for more advanced

techniques.

Week 1: Selecting Materials (decorative & functional), Tools, Work Area. Proj: Misc

Beads/Charms Memory Wire Bracelets.

Week 2: Stringing basics including materials and glues. Proj: Wonder Bead Elastic Bracelet,

Wonder Bead Floating Necklace

Week 3: Knotting (demo/practice) and Crimping. Proj: Open Wire Crimped Bracelet.

Week 4: Wire Work Techniques: PROJ Chainmaille bracelet/earrings, Wrapped Loop Briolette

Earrings.

 

 

Golf (Intermediate) (WPB Municipal S 9:30-11:00am 4

*****This class has an additional required one time Range Fee of $40 which is required and

payable in cash to the instructor during the 1st class*****

ADULTS ONLY This intermediate course is designed for those who want to take the next step in

the game of Golf. Learn weight shift, body swing, ball flight, and course management. We

limit class size to 15 students, so that the instructor may give individual attention to each

student.

Golf classes are held at the WPB Municipal Golf Course behind Forest Hill High School off of

Parker Avenue. Take I-95 to Forest Hill Boulevard, Exit 66. Head East .4 miles to Parker

Avenue and turn Right. The course will be at the end of Parker Avenue, behind Forest Hill High School. Meet your instructor, Chuck Reynolds, in front of the Pro Shop.
