COMPUTERS

Computer Beginning

Basic usage features common to all computer programs: keyboard, mouse, menus, tool bars, hands-on practice; handouts using word processing, spreadsheets, the Internet.

Digital Photo/Photo Enhancement

Utilize many of the “tools” available to enhance, or otherwise modify your photos. Some of the tools to be used are: Move, rectangular, magic wand, cropping, red eye removal, clone stamp tool, eraser, paint bucket, custom shape tool, smudge, sharpen, burn and dodge. Knowledge of Windows needed.

 

 

CRAFTS/HOBBIES

Cardmaking

Create beautiful handmade cards and scrapbook pages using a variety of stamping and paper crafting techniques.

Fun with Flowers

Learn the elements, principles and mechanics of Floral Design. This is a class for those who enjoy beautiful flowers but never learned to arrange them. Each night a new style will be taught by instructor, Patricia Egan. At the end of each session you will have designed and created a beautiful arrangement to take home and enjoy!

Pottery & Ceramics

Enjoy an evening of fun and creativity! In this class you will learn how to handle clay, build different types of pots, plates, bowls, planters and other decorations for the house and gifts. Class space is limited so register early.

 

 

DANCE

Belly Dancing

Learn the basic steps in the timeless art of belly dance. Shimmy away the stress and undulate your way to a happier well-being! Make new friends as you create a happier you!

 


EXERCISE/FITNESS

Aerobics
A personal trainer by profession, Lydia offers an intense workout of step choreography. Guaranteed to challenge your muscles and stamina. Beginners welcome.

Body Sculpting: This body shaping class is designed to tone, strengthen and define your body using your own body weight and/or dumbbells. A breakdown of the proper way to isolate each muscle group is given in this workout. This is a head to toe workout of toning and strengthening. All fitness levels are welcome.

Pilates

The Pilates method is a sequence of exercises performed on the mat. This method is concentrates on the concepts of awareness, balance, breath, centering, concentration, control flowing movement and precision. Increase lung capacity, circulation, long lean muscles, and improved flexibility and posture.

Volleyball - Coed

Beginner/Intermediate Men and Women. Beginners will be on one net; Intermediate on another. Coached for beginners. Get a workout and meet some new people.

Yoga
Yoga is a "state of mind". It is not a religion. It is a wonderful school of patience, of calmness and of self-control. It is also an exercise, but exercise is one thing. How to exercise is something else. The exercises will be progressive, starting with the breathing and the basic postures. Start now working on body and mind!

Healthy Massage for Couples

This course will teach couples a 30-minute relaxing massage of the back, neck, shoulders, arm and legs, hands and feet, a mini-facial, and a new attitude.

Infant Massage Instruction

Using the basic text of Vimala McClure’s InfantMassage, a Handbook for Loving Parents we will explore the bonding process between parents/caregivers and their babies using age-old techniques and modern thinking processes. Join us for a session which will change your life.

Self Massage for Health

Not everyone has a partner to give them a rubbie-dub when we need one. Learn how to help yourself to a better, less stressful life using a few age-old self massage techniques.

Investing in These Tough Times

Whether you are a new or experienced investor, you’ll get answers in simple, non-technical language on topics such as: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRAs, life insurance, taxes and their effect on your investment selection, and much, much more in this three-session class.

Memoir Writing by Personal Essays

This course taught by Barbara Cronie, M.A., editor of Editing Par Excellence, is a workshop for those who want to write, or are already writing, their memoirs. Short lectures, reading aloud and constructive criticism are included in the sessions.

Reverse Mortgages for Seniors

Learn how a Reverse Mortgage can help meet the financial needs of seniors age 62 and over. This class will explain how a reverse mortgage works, the differences between a traditional mortgage and a reverse mortgage, the qualification process, fees and costs, and the tax and financial considerations. Most importantly, this course explains the particular Reverse Mortgage that is insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).

Wills, Trusts, and Finance

An attorney and an accountant have teamed up for this informative course. Some of the topics are: The pros and cons of wills, trusts and estate planning, at home budgeting, cash flow, recordkeeping, pension plans, saving for the future, taxes and mid-year planning.
